“What makes EvilEyeProductions different from other recording studios?”
What sets us apart from other studios is our natural curiosity to discover how far we can push something. If we’ve got a good system going in the studio, we’re always looking to improve upon it. No matter how satisfied our client is, we are constantly looking to optimize our processes.
“Which microphone does EvilEyeProductions use?”
Our current go-to microphone in the studio is the Neumann U87 Ai (~$4000 USD). We’re firm believers that a good input is needed for a good output. Our Neumann U87 Ai is perfect for getting that punctual, clean sound right from the start. Combined with our SoftTube Tube-Tech CL-1B, or LA-2A.
“Are you experienced with Auto-tune?”
Yes, our lead engineer is proficient in various subtle pitch correction techniques which are adjusted and tailored to each artist who desires the effect. We prefer tracking with Antares Auto-Tune, then utilizing Melodyne for precise correction if needed.
“What are the studio rules?”
At EvilEyeProductions, we value the atmosphere and ambience our space creates. We ask that all guests maintain peace, order, and cleanliness. to preserve the sacrality of EvilEyeProductions. Guests must remain quiet during the tracking process to ensure minimal unwanted noise is recorded.
“Can we rent the studio?”
No. Our studio can only be accessed via recording sessions with the lead audio engineer.
“Do we use Pro Tools?”
Sometimes. If not Pro Tools, we’re running LUNA which works seamlessly with our UAD products, so all vocal tracking is done start to finish with UAD software. Mixing and mastering in post is typically finalized in Pro Tools. However, we are familiar with Logic Pro, Reaper, and Fl Studio, and are always looking to broaden our DAW knowledgebase.
